Online Grevience forum in India.

India as a country does not stand very well in the list of corrupt countries in the world. One of the most important things that happened in the last few years is the Right to Information Act.

I received this email from my colleague this morning and its one of the few emails that is actually worth forwarding and spreading the word. So here it is:

Hi all

for your information

Government of India has an on-line Grievance forum at http://pgportal.gov.in/ Can you imagine this is happening in INDIA?

The govt. wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with Government officials or departments like Passport Office, Electricity board, BSNL/MTNL, Railways etc.
So use this grievance forum and educate others who don't know about this facility. This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the ' System ' in India.

Invite your friends to contribute for many such happenings.

PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE IF U WANTS OUR INDIA TO HAVE A BETTER TOMORROW & FORWARD THIS MAIL TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE.

Thanks

Taheer Mohd

A Windows XP themed wallpaper for beer lovers
Saturday, December 27, 2008, 11:01 AM - General
I love the default Windows XP wallpaper, but also wanted to have some other wallpaper, but still wanted the Windows XP wallpaper, because I find it easy to locate icons on that blue background, which are generally located on the left side of the screen. So as a fun project I am making some morphed Window XP wallpaper with my own images. Here is the first one. Feel free to download and use it -- I will be more than happy if you leave a comment here if you like it.

Its is 800x600 pixels size, but will fit well into your desktop with the "Stretch" position setting. Click here to download.

Grape oscillating in my drink
Monday, February 4, 2008, 04:00 AM - General
Have you ever tried putting a grape in your drink -- an aerated drink to be precise(Sprite in this case). It just oscillates from surface to bottom. Don't believe? I knew you wont and so I immediately grabbed my camcorder and recorded the phenomenon.

I appears to me that the grape initially sinks, them some sort of reaction causes it to accumulate the CO2 bubbles on its surface. The bubbles then pull the grape up with it. Once it reaches the surface the bubble go into the air and the grape goes down again. Its quite interesting to see the grape oscillating up and down.

Here is the video (2:41 minutes) -- the lighting and setup is not professional grade though, I thought of doing a retake of the entire shot, but videography does not interest me as much as photography.
